PM Modi on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas: Sardar Patel’s Vision for a United Kashmir vs Nehru’s Approach

"Since 2014, when Narendra Modi first assumed office as Prime Minister, Sardar Patel’s birth anniversary on October 31 has been observed as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, or National Unity Day, to honor his enduring contribution to India’s unity."

On Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, famously known as the “Iron Man of India,” for his pivotal role in uniting the nation. In his address, Prime Minister Modi emphasized Patel's vision to fully integrate the Kashmir region with India. He noted that this objective was not completely achieved due to the decisions made by then Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

Modi highlighted Patel’s commitment to national unity and integrity, noting that his leadership and dedication continue to guide India’s governance.
